ColdQuanta’s Z-coil driver is a unipolar voltage-controlled current source that is designed to drive an inductive load with currents up to 20 A. The output current is directly proportional to the input voltage with a transconductance of 2 A/V, i.e. an input voltage of 1 V will set the output current to 2 A. Balanced, differential inputs isolate the driver from control electronics. The driver is designed to work with ColdQuanta’s MAG-5000 Z-transfer coil.
