We are looking for individuals with an artistic yet technical mind set or experienced technicians open to learning new techniques. You will have the opportunity to acquire new skills with various glass, silicon and metal bonding techniques. There will be some optics, and electronics assembly. You will learn how to process ultrahigh vacuums within glass tubes, a job which requires carefully following procedures and moving cumbersome equipment around delicate objects. The individual will accept that sometimes mistakes happen and it is better to own them and start again and is highly motivated to deliver quality work.  We will gladly train people with a background in the arts and/or catering who might be looking for a new opportunity. This could potentially be a part-time position for the right candidate

Purchasing/Inventory/Shipping Coordinator

Seeking dependable individual with excellent attention to detail who is interested in full-time employment in small company specializing in the manufacture of high end scientific equipment. Job Description

Generate purchase orders and place purchase orders with suppliers.

Maintain purchase order files.

Work with vendor invoice issues and resolve.

Work with vendors to resolve any discrepancy.

Source and negotiate with suppliers for all materials as assigned.

Work closely with Technical staff to avoid delays.

Set-up new raw material & packaging part numbers and costs.

Responsible for packaging, shipping and receiving of materials and products including taking care of international orders and shipping.

Stock items in current inventory system, provide feedback and suggestions for improvements of inventory system.

Maintain current inventory system now and learn new systems if applicable.

Be able to generate proper paperwork and reports for Finance

Assist in the care and maintenance of lab work area and equipment.

Take the lead in safety training and OSHA training


Computer/Excel literate


Must be able to multi-task

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

Must have good and pleasant communication skills

Receiving and inventory experience preferred

Should be flexible to cope with transitions to new inventory system

Prefer a minimum of an Associates Degree
