Mechanical Engineer or Opto-Mechanical Engineer

B.Sc. or Equivalent years of Experience: Engineering Physics; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Opto-Mechanical Engineering. Industrial experience is not necessary but advantageous.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

Opto-Mechanical assembly

Mechanical design

COMSOL

Basic electronics design

Machining skills

Laser familiarity

SolidWorks

Vacuum-processing knowledge

Strong writing and communication skills

Knowledge of at least one programming language

Strong mathematical, mechanical and problem-solving abilities.

Sampling of Responsibilities:

Support the development of quantum devices

Aid in the design and and fabrication of prototypes of components and subsystems

Design and set up tooling

Conduct experiments, analyze data and interpret results

Documentation of processes

Research new materials and manufacturing methods

Ensure quality and integrity of products

Machining

Collaborate with Principal Investigators with government contract research
