Position Title: Senior Scientist
The Senior Scientist will have the opportunity to make significant, personal contributions to the growth and development of the Company. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing cold and ultracold atom miniature systems
- Liaise with research scientists
- Responsible for project management oversight and/or all aspects of system development ranging from conceptualization, demonstration and production
- Lead the design, specification, and implementation of components and subsystems
- Work with engineering to transition research programs into new product development
- Develop papers for peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations and patent disclosures
- Present information before clients and/or prospective clients and at conferences
- Ph.D. Physics
- Thorough theoretical understanding of BEC
- Excellent knowledge of laser physics
- A high degree of creative ability and entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Basic knowledge of mechanical drawing skills, sufficient to interact with mechanical engineers
- Basic electronics knowledge, sufficient for experimental setups
- Experimental familiarity with cold and ultracold matter
- Excellent knowledge of and skills in laser cooling and related cold matter techniques.
- Knowledge of opto-mechanical design
Position Title: Senior Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:- Oversee execution of prototype fabrication
- Participate in conceptual design of mechanisms using sketches and 3D modeling software
- Write assembly process documents, test/experiment procedures, test reports and status reports
- Participate in design reviews by generating review material and presenting design review material
- Interface with vendors in all phases of product development including prototyping, development and production
- Participate in generating intellectual property to protect the company's technological position and build value of the company
- Develop project schedules and lead other engineering personnel in accomplishing the above tasks to defined schedules
- Develop production protocol of portable vacuum cell
- Develop products at the system/parts/components level and turning them into manufacturability and marketable products
- Communicate with university and research scientists
- Minimum MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering and/or Product Development experience utilizing 3D solid modeling, i.e. Solid Works or ProE
- Theoretical understanding of BEC
- Excellent knowledge of laser physics
- A high degree of creative ability and entrepreneurial spirit
